I'm in the process of building a bigger chook-house and am also moving the run to another part of the garden. If I want to introduce a few extra birds (four or five), will the change of scene simplify the process? i.e. will this avoid all the usual fighting etc ? My other birds all arrived together from different pens and there was no fighting at all. Any thoughts??

Who can tell with chickens? I guess there will be usual deciding who is top of the pecking order no matter what. You could try explaining to them how lucky they are to the first occupants of this luxurious accomodation, and that fighting is therefore not going to be tolerated. We did that with our cockerels. We said you are all welcome here but at the first sign of too much crowing and too much fighting ................... We no longer have a cockerel, but it was their choice. I mean, actions have consquences as my mother used to say

You might be lucky as they will all be in a 'new' place, but don't count on it
