hi been off line for a while. last june built coop(6ftx3ft) and pen (12ftx6ft) and had 6 black rocks have had great times in last 8 months unfortunatly have just lost 1 chuck. B4 this i was toying with increasing my flock my questions are 1 how many can be kept in the above setup ( hoping 5 or 6 more) and 2 could i introduec these new yonger hens 16 week +) without to much trouble. the coop has 2x3ft perches and all 6 hens only used 1 hope someone with more knowledge can help me thanks

I'm not sure about the coop size, but someone else will.  But in my opinion a 12ft x 6 ft run will take a maximum of 8 mediums sized birds.  If they have the majority or their time free ranging over a larger area the maybe 10 to 12 could be squeezed in.

Welcome back meterman  :)

 I'm not sure about the coop size either to be honest   :?  depends how long they are gonna be in there, don't forget they get up at first light so ok now but what about in the summer 3 am  :shock: if they are too densely populated would bullying and pecking become a problem ?

my birds only roost in coop always out during daylight and only return to lay in nest box
