....radishes?

I have an opened packet of seed and a bit of bare earth on my new allotment.

I'm afraid it probably is.  But, to be honest, if I were you I would give it a go, especially if you can provide them with some protection eg putting a plastic sheet/cloche over them.  I always think, just go for it.  The worst you have lost are a few seed and they are pretty cheap.

radishes must be one of the quickest to harvest after things like cress - give it a go.
All these moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

I put some in last week.... for a few seeds I'm not fussed as I have got something else for next year... if we get a decent few weeks then we'll get something out of it... also put in some pak choi, assorted salady things and some baby beets... they'll get a cloche though if it gets colder... plan is to harvest toward the end of November to have some sweet pickled for Christmas.... They were freebies anyway....

You could also try Mooli (winter radish) boybeck.
I'm trying it for the first time this year.

.... mind you I suppose that doesnt help you much if you've just got an open packet and you're wondering whether it's worth the gamble.

The packet of scarlet globe I have says plant up until September, so I would definitely sow some.

The ones I sowed last week are up already and growing away well  :D
