Mini greenhouse
« on: September 21, 2009, 16:20 »
Hi all

Im on the lookout for a mini plastic greenhouse and wondered if anyone knows where they might get sold at end of season reduced price?.

I would like one to put inside my greenhouse to overwinter some of my plants.  The greenhouse we have is only a homemade one made from wood frame and plastic (from a roll) so isnt likely to stay warm atall.  I was looking at one online that comes with 2 separate covers a winter fleece type and a summer cover.

If i used the winter fleece one inside my greenhouse im wondering if my plants will get enough light to survive the winter as my greenhouse hasnt got clear plastic.

What are your thoughts/ideas?

Thanks for any help

Emma

You could try putting a wanted on your local freegle, now that the season is over for most people you may pick one up.

Or get some fleece from the 99p shop and throw it over the plants on cold nights.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

You can pick them up quite cheaply in Poundstretcher.  Think Wilkinsons might do them too.  About £10-15 depending on any offers.

I use fleece as I can take it off during the day but have thought about using a mini-greenhouse.  Hey, it's more shelves if nothing else  :D

I tried Wilkinsons today and they dont have any  >:(.

The other reason for wanting one was so that when i have my tons of onions next year i will have shelf space for them to lay out and dry on, its not just for the over wintering stuff.

I'll try and find a pundstretcher next.  Thanks
