I wish   According to the Omlet customer service, it takes between 1 1/2  to  2 hours to put the cube together (when you know what you are doing ), but can take longer.
The little Eglu takes an hour plus.
If you read the forum/replies on the Omlet site, it confirms that is the time it takes, and sometimes more.
The cube weighs about 45 - 50kgs.

Er Is that the chickens putting them together or you ducky Ribbit.

If it was me putting it together sweetie, it would take a lot longer than that, and I couldn't guarantee  that I wouldn't have to call in someone to help

Aunty has always said that red mite can infest an eglu but they are a whole lot easier to eradicate than from a wooden house.

We have had our hens for about 21 months and I've never seen a red mite. The run and coop are overhung by hawthorn, elder and rowan, with assorted ivy and bramble growing through. The wild birds are ALWAYS rummaging aroudn on top of the run, around the edges and sometimes one will get in.
Doesn't mean I won't find some today of course, but so far, we've been lucky. It isn't a dead cert that you'll get them and the plastic coops are easier to rid of mites than a wooden one. :)

Some people thought I was  loopy when I said that the plastic compost was infested with red mite......they were hiding in the moulding joints!!!!.... (I have that bin for the chickens waste etc). I treated it the same as the coop with Cimetrol & Diatom.  Although it took 2 months I now have no red mite but I am aware that they can live without a feed for up to 9 months.  Husbandry is the most important thing.  I am sure my infestation came from pigeons, we have 3 regulars that come for corn too!!! ( I have no roof on a rather large run & garden).   I have just bought a new bigger wooden coop, but this time with an onduline roof.  My coop at the mo is all wood like tongue & groove, red mite paradise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
