Ok my beautiful wee girls have arrived and settled in nicely!  Question - Should i lock them up in the sleeping box part of the coop tonight or do i leave that open and just cock up the coop???

I would lock up the coop but leave them free to move round it providing it is fox proof.

ok its like Tenko lol i have an enclosure around the coop too so i should just leave it open, i did wonder as to how they would get a wee drink if they needed it thru the night.

Pretty girls there.
They don't need a drink or food over night so when you put them to bed in their coup they will be fine without until the morning

hi, what beautiful girls you have there.  I was putting water in my coop overnight with the girls, but i was told they dont need it, so i stopped! my girls are fine without it i lock my run up and i lock the girls in the coop but everyone has their own way of doing things . Good luck with them , and i hope you enjoy them as much as i enjoy ours x

Lovely birds  are they two Gold brahamas and a Black Leghorn?

Well the farmer i got them from told me they were Brahma's and a Ancona?? However now that u mention the leghorn it does look like one doesnt it???  I have to admit he talks so fast and extremely doric i near needed a translator there, and im Scottish too!!
