Four new chooks have now moved into our Garden

and

And this morning I found this in the nest box.

I know, I have the egg cup upside down, but I'm just following the latest fashion.

Nice chooks. Like the run. Is it new?
-If life gives you lemons find someone who got vodka and have a party
-If it doesn't fit;force it. If it breaks; you needed a new one anyway
-Borrow money from pessimist; they don't expect it back

I want to know where you find chickens that lay egg cups - bargain!!
Nobody said this was going to be easy ... but some days are better than others!

New run for the new chooks.

I fenced off the bottom of the garden, covered with weldmesh to protect them. Then built a woven living willow fence in front of that which when it roots and sprouts will hide the run nicely.

Where do you get weldmesh from? I need some for my chickens - I have just paid a fortune for chicken wire and stakes and it doesn't look sturdy enough to trust my cats won't get in.

Weldmesh is available at most DIY stores in varying sizes. I got mine from B&Q.
