We have 10 eggs that our broodies have been sitting on for 21 days today.  At 5 pm this evening when we checked on them 4 of the eggs have pipped and movement inside visible on 1 of them.  What sort of time can we expect the chicks to break free from the shells and how long should we leave un broken eggs after day 21?

Thanks Foxy but any idea how long the process takes for the hatching chciks to break free?

anything from an hour to 2 days or even longer in some cases.

Okay thanks for that.  This is my first atempt with brooding hens and chicks so i am hoping to get some succes.  Have 10 eggs and up to now 4 of them are cracked 1 more th n the others so hopefully will have some chicks very soon x
