oh my god! the photo has gone up AT LASSSST! thankyou themagical toad for your advice! - 3 more photos to follow in just a minute, but... what i wanted to ask was...i have this bantie araucana for one week now and she is meant to be POL but i am not sure if she will ever lay an egg as could she be a boy? i just have a feeling about her stance and behaviour- also she or he doesnt seem as old as POL - can anyone offer their knowledgeable opinions on how old she he may be and if she is actually o boy? Thankyou - as i said more photos in a min!

Looks like a fine photo (and chook) to me. :D
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

It is hard to tell from a pic but i would say that your birdie is a she, a very handsome one to, as for age i would go about 14 weeks but could be a wee bit older ,

Well Jason is much more expert than me, but I was just going to type girl too!  I think all the arries stance is very upright.  My four are all lovely now but the 2 boys' combs are boader than your girly's comb.  They are 16 weeks now same age as CL's little pootle, so hope it won't be to long til we get blue eggies!

Jason, at what sort of age do the arries start to lay?  pure breeds are generally later aren't they?

Hiya Grannie

Depending on the colour, but expect around 20 weeks that way you can be sure, just checked my notes and yours should lay about the first week in September xx
