THANKYOU!!!    i better start thinking of her as a her, we all call him 'the boy' -  i feel so encouraged by your comments.  When i got him he was in a pen indoors with lots of others and hadnt been outside yet but he(I mean she!) has started scratching around and loves pecking off the grass - he's not a bit nervous unlike the big girl one (although she isnt nearly as bad now)
