Hi all,
just signed up to the forum.I have been growing Brocolli on my veg patch for the first time.I planted the seed as per the packet instructions which recommend sowing outdoors in Feb/March.The plants appeared to be going ok,what appeared to be Brocolli
started to appear,but after about a week the plants seemed to go a bit 'leggy' and all the heads of the vegetable started to sprout yellow flowers.What did i do wrong!Any help please.

I also have had one bolt i saw that it was sprouting but wasnt big enough for my liking 2 days later we got flowers .My other plants are ok, serves me right for being greedy and wanting a bigger crop!!!!!!!.I am sure its to do with the heat has been very hot here

Hi Richm

I think it's just gone to flower really quickly.  Sometimes brassicas can do this if they have not been planted really really firmly, but I'm not a brassica expert and it may well have something to do with the weather too.
