lame cochin
« on: July 06, 2009, 10:35 »
I have a lovely white frizzle cochin but for the last week she has refused to go to bed. She sits in a corner of the pen and I have to put her to bed myself. I have checked for mite etc. This morning I noticed she is quite unsteady on her feet perhaps preventing her from walking up the ramp at night. Do cochins need any extra care with their feet? I cannot see anything untoward.

Have you checked the underneath of her feet?
Do her legs/ feet feel warm?

How high is her perch at night could she have damaged her leg/foot jumping down?

Her feet dont feel hot and are a healthy colour with no scratches etc. Her perch is about 5 inches off the ground. Its odd that she is refusing to go to bed and when I put her in last night she appeared to "topple" to one side
