Help with cauliflowers

My cauliflowers are in trouble. I know they are the hardest thing to grow,but had to try being mad as I am.......the outer leaves are going patch purple......what are they missing.....help please.......too busy working to hunt through the site, sorry for being lazy but my boss might spot me.......thanks in advance..... 8)

Are there curds forming? It may just be the cycle of the older leaves dying once the curd has formed. Also perhaps lift one and see what the root is like, clubroot may affect the way it takes it nutrients up, so long as the ground was prepared they should have no problem, here is two of mine just lifted, I have very sandy soil and they reckon it is near on impossible to grow them on sandy soil but I rest my case.

Hi, with caulies you have to keep them growing, any check will result in small curds. Give them plenty of space feed them well and keep them watered in dry weather, but keep them growing!!
