Never thought of that,end of this year we are thinking of a fruit cage...few gazebos and net......

Brill idea shaun shame I've just threw the joints of our old one away  :x  :lol:  I kept the poles cause I thought they might be handy, suppose I could stick em in either side of my rows and chuck the fleece over the top.

look at that pic annie in the background thats mine,someone gave me the net it stops birds but the cabbage whites get through it  :evil: could do with a finer net

My son and his mate have managed to scrounge an old polytunnel frame for their fruit cage off one of the abandoned plots, some people have all the luck  :lol:

I use old scaffold net I scrounge. Its bomb proof and no flying thing that I know gets through.

For a frame I buy 10 3metrs lengths of overflow pipe from Screwfix for £9.99, and gaffer tape. Depending on how big a frame I want I either bend the piipe into hoops, or make square frames with tape.

Its works brilliantly
