Yeah, all my brassica seedlings are arrogant too, I think its coz they're so leggy, they just think they're gods gift. Anyway, I have the same problem :)
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

Well I was going to suggest more light and less heat (regardless of what you answered).  Have you got a coldframe?  Or a cloche?

Flattery will get you everywhere

Yes, that's what to do with them.  Even that is temporary, get them out in the open before they put on too much soft growth.  When do you normally get your last frosts?

I have cabbage & cauli planted out already and I am about 700 miles north of you.

God I'm not sure we have had frost most mornings lately but they are getting lighter so I reckon next couple of weeks things are certainly hotting up.  Glad flattery works will use again when I'm stuck probably tomorrow.

I'd say calabrese is a little more frost tender than other brassicas.  If the weather continues to improve the way it has been going, try planting it out in the open after a week in the coldframe.   Remember to open the frame on sunny days.

I haven`t sown my broccoli yet but it always looks leggy, when I plant out I just dig the hole a bit deeper to cover some of the stem, they will grow OK if you don`t but are more pron to wind damage.

Looking on the bright side, even if they do croak, there's plenty of time to plant some more

... I've always been told to plant them quite deep and quite firm, so if they're leggy I just plant em deep ...  :D
