Brockley is this hard to grow if so is it too late to plant

I grow Autumn Green (sown April)) and don't think it is any harder to grow than cabbage.

Broccoli isn't too hard to grew. They will grew from seeds but when they crop will depend on how soon they are sown. Some sown now could be ready for next spring. Have a look at growing advice section of this website.
You are not too late to plant you should find plants available at a garden centre for a crop in a few monthsWatch outs are to ensure you cover the plants to protect them from bird attacks and also defend against slugs. Ideally you want to have an alkaline soil but that's ideal not essential.

Some sown now could be ready for next spring

No matter how hard I try, there are always the odd caterpillars that get through my enviromesh defences, and they are not desireable, with perfect hiding places in amongst the Autumn harvested broccoli. The beauty of Spring sprouting broccoli is there's not a slug or caterpillar anywhere to be seen come harvest time., so I can relax, eat it raw and just washed with rain, do anything I like. Bliss.

You are at the right time. Different varieties mature at different times. Some in 60 days, this lot I saw a couple of weeks ago in the gh, came up as fast as the radishes.

An easy to grow brassica I would say, just be ready at harvest time. The heads open very fast in the sunshine (bolting).
