Any suggestions to the mould on this apple tree?
« on: June 08, 2009, 18:35 »
Its behind me and think the bees probably us it to pollinate my trees. Just noticed this mould on it - it doesn't appear to have flowered this year, and although a large tree, there don't look to be many fruits either. Any suggestions? thanks

Not sure Barney but it looks like canker to me all that swelling on the trunk, if it is its a chop and burn job.

thanks PAULW. unfortunately its not my tree, but would try to help it if it was. Bit concerned that its pollen via the bees might do the same to my trees, but don't know enough about cross contamination in apple pollen - any advice would be great :)

Mum really!! - you know I can't - you've already been disappointed on the rhubarb pie question - but I'll let you into a secret - got lots of new rhubarb seeds coming down the post line tomorrow - so that rhubarb forest is only a gestation away... will keep you in rhubarb forever  - if your little beauties ever let you down.... :D :tongue2:
