I planted some potatoes in containers relatively late (as an experiment for a really early crop next year  )

What sort of N:P:K feed do I need to give them?

Hi Kristen,

I have mine growing in old compost bags and feed them once per week with full strengh Phostrogen. I would think that any Tomato feed would be okay as well. Just make sure that you don't use anything that is top heavy with Nitrogen or you will end up with all foilage and very small spuds.

Thanks - I was wondering if I needed a high "P" fertilizer, for roots, or a high "K" for Fruits

I've got both Phostrogen and Tomato feeds, so I'll go with those

When I planted mine in pots I filled with compost to about 1/3 of the way up, and added some pelleted chicken poo.

Then I earthed up to about 2/3 and added some more chicken poo pellets.

Finally I earthed up to the top of the pot and some more chicken poo pellets.

So far growing well.
