EPSOM SALTS
« on: May 27, 2009, 13:44 »
I am sure that John Harrison has written an article on using epsom sales for poorly plants and chickens, but I can't find it. Perhaps someone can help?

Likewise, I tried to get some epsom sales today in Boots and they don't well it 'anymore'. WHY! so where does one get it now?

I was given a courgette yesterday - its a wonderful green. My own pumpkins and courgettes are a nice colour, but on the softer/yellowish shade, so I thought I would give it a gentle drink. Any thoughts?

Epsom salts are available in most garden centres....I think JA Bowers is one of the manufacturers. My local chemist also sells it.  Now I am sure someone might say I have this wrong but you can add 1/2oz of magnesium to 1 pint of water and use it as a foliar spray for magnesium deficient plants. I have used this on yellowing tomato leaves and they green up nicely. :)

I was "Googling" - honest and on a Cannabis Cultivation website  :tongue2: it said that Asda sold it as well as EBAY where you can buy it in larger quantities and cheaper!  Be happy.  :)

Even if its not on the shelf at the pharmacy it should not be a problem from them to order and would probably be in the next day.

My local chemist keeps it in big bags. Also the 99p shop sells boxes. The chemist now keeps 500ml tubs of bicarb for me to do my cleaning with (see Che's latest book).
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
