Unbelievable, no rain again.
« on: May 27, 2009, 11:43 »
I watched the radar today, and the rain building in the west. It came across the country and dematerialised around Milton Keynes, and rematerialised around Cambridge. It has done this all morning, until it changed direction and slid south east. Looking carefully it seems the A1 was built in what happens to be a naturally dry corridor. These ancients knew a thing or two.

I suspect if you got as far as Bedford you would find it hadn't rained much.

My neighbours who have lived here for 50 years say it is a dry area.  Rain seems to be all round but miss us, so we're in luck today.  They say it's to do with the Thames Valley.

In warmer weather the cloud has to be heavy with moisture before it will release it, so the rain drops are usually bigger.

Where I am in Berkshire it chucked it down hard for about 5 minutes then the cloud cleared and the sun came out - perfect! :D

that's really interesting - almost like it's evaporated before it's had a chance to rain!

andrea, at home u get water forming on the window glass in two cases, if the air in the room has high moisture and if the window glass is cool. the moisture in the air will change into water.
