Poo picking

I promise this is the last question of today.    I read the article about all the different forms of chuck poo,   Where my chucks will be kept will be a large paved area and then they have got about the same sized grass area so for two chickens i reckon is very sizeable, question is sorry if it sounds stupid but do you have to poo pick if its all on the grass, or do you just leave it, the guy im getting my chickens from said hen poo has a great way of dissapearing is this true.   nicky

I like to clear most of it after it has dried out a bit, you get less flies and it`s safer walking if the majority goes in a closed composter.

Today has been a still day, little breeze - and the flies were awful.  I picked up poo three times, to no avail.  My husband is hosing down the back garden now and will disinfect the patio with chlorine tablets in water after the hens go back in their runs.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

I found this fly catcher to help with flies wot do you all reckon, probably only ideal if you dont have alot of hens, im thinking of getting this just incase, but then saying that my next door neighbour just has a paved square of a garden if you could call it that, and that is the only place her dog can go to the toliet, shes not very good at picking it up and she gets a few flies perhaps this will solve her probs too.

My motto is "If you can see it, pick it up".

I reckon the flies are better around my compost heap.  :tongue2:
