well as you all know this is my first time to growing anything just got back from the lottie and SOMETHING HAS BEEN MUNCHING MY BROCCOLI AND SPROUTS i have slug pellets down my dad seems to think it is birds so tomorrow i will put up netting will they all die now they have been munched i have flappy bags ect all around GET ME THE BUG SPRAY lol

well my dogs have a raw meat diet so i will go out first thing with them lol no i would not really but i am blinking mad i was so happy that every thing was growing too

My money would be on pigeons, but depending on the location and type of damage it could be rabbits or slugs (even with the pellets about).

If you don't have any netting to hand, then I have found that those cheap poly tunnel cloches work to keep the pigeons off the brassicas.

how come a farmer can grow fields and fields of cabbages etc and not get a pigeon in sight ?,you can plant one cabbage and it will be stripped bare in seconds  ???
feed the soil not the plants

Its still one of lifes questions Shaun...earlier on this year lost all my PSB.
Carefully netted keep them Sky Rats off Ect,
IT bl**** snowed down came the nets ....only days I couldn't get there


Bl**** heard of pheasants ate the damn lot...
not a bit left...totaled..decimated...
One of lifes ?????? ions.......

Because field cabbages are chemically fertilized and the birds are smart enough to avoid the yukky tasting things. They  much prefer organic cabbages  :D
