Don't blame me if it all goes horribly wrong, I have replacements sown for pretty much everything ( except the leeks, ran out of seeds with those ) ;)

I won't be putting my leeks into their final bed for a while yet though, as they'll be following my spuds ... which would have been early spuds but the weather controls all eh? ;)

I'm no expert, and my brassicas we're cr*p last year ;), but according to Unwins you can sow outdoors march/april ( @unwins : cabbage greyhound ).

When you plant them, sink them up to their first leaves and *really* firm the soil up.

it all depends on your location, not a chance up here.all brassicas sown in the unheated polytunnel.

I live in blackpool, we tend to be windier but warmer than most areas around us. To be fair my brassica bed is in a "green house" ( more like a poly tunnel with netting for sides ) which raises the temps a tad, but that often seems to be to their detriment, I think it's to hot for them under there but the covers won't be coming off until the dahlias are planted ( last week in may ) as they're *really* not frost hardy

As I said though, I have plenty more seedlings to follow these if it all goes t*ts up so I'm a tad less cautious than most ;)

*edit to add*
This is the best photo I have to show what our "greenhouse" currently looks like ( brassica bed is the one at bottom right of photo, complete with leeks in trays :tongue2: .... half to be planted yet eh? ;) )

I planted mine out at the plot today.  They have been in the garden for about a month now in their pots and I needed to get them netted as have already found quite a few cabbage white eggs on them.

Should I start my brassicas today in the unheated greenhouse ?
