As of 6pm tonight i am the proud owner of no 21, a brand new beautiful plot 25m x 4m. It has no shade, runs north to south and was recently rotavated (not my choice) with grass paths laid. I can finally plant my chitted potatoes that have taken over the downstairs loo and plant out some seedlings from my bursting at the seams greenhouse.
I can't wait until tomorrow......it's so exciting!

What perfect timing!  Just before a bank holiday weekend that is supposed to be sunny!!  Enjoy it - I have had mine under a year and can't imagine being without it.  Really love it.

Ah you've discovered the curse of the allotment holder and the reason why so many of us are that bit older! You have to see if you can borrow a garden trained oldster to help you sometimes.

But good luck Sophie and I hope that the forecast weather for the holiday isn't wet with you as it is with me because that will be rain stopped play

Best decision you have ever made.  My allotment keeps me sane, everything in perspective, mentally agile, as Im always thinking of ways to thwart the pests by spending as little as possible.
Oh and Im getting wind tanned into the bargain - fingernails not so good - but what the heck
