can i plant tomatoes in cow manure
« on: April 22, 2009, 16:12 »
Just wanted to check i've done the right thing.

On advice from another plot holder  I've planted my strong strudy and flowering tomato plants in cow manure.

It's well rotted and I filled each hole with some grow bag compost first but only a little of it.

Am i going to regret doing this - the manure is from an organic farm

Yes, you can, but it's hardly worth it. You shall get way too much foliage growth which in tur, you can thin out to prevent disease and get better ripening.
