one of my rhubarb plants appears to be shooting a flower / seed head? Should I chop this off?

You don't want it to waste energy on flowers/seeds as you want stems and more stems

. The plant will waste precious energy diverting its growth into a flower that you don't eat or do anything with.

Sorry to hijack the thread for a second..... but why does it grow a flower in the first place.............. for seed??

Yes that's what it uses flowers for but we want stems not seeds... unless of course you're trying to reproduce masses of rhubarb
