Can anyone tell me the best way to support broad beans.  I remember last year I made a support with canes but the plants got so heavy that it just kept collapsing.

Also is it better to stagger them when they are planted, I have about 18 plants and then I am going to plant some more later on.

Hello.
Get some wooden lats about 4ft long and 2"x 1" ish, drill about 4 evenly spaced holes along 2 1/2 ft, place in ground about 1ft deep.  Thread wire (available from wilko's) through holes and secure at the ends.  Secure beans to wire as they grow.
