Fresh grass cuttings

Hi,

I have had to fence off a bit of the garden for my 3 and only free range them when I am around. Unfortunately this means that any grass that was inside the pen is no more, but the girls go mad for grass when they are let free. I know hay bedding can cause problems for hens, but is there any reason why I cant give them fresh grass cuttings?

A word of caution - the clippings will need to be very very fresh. Grass begins to break down very quickly once cut and could cause digestive problems.
