Great day at the Lottie
« on: March 30, 2009, 20:24 »
Day off work today so i spent 5 hours on the plot.
A bit of rain but still a great day.

I sowed  four 15ft rows of Parsnips (2 seeds to a drill) , 2 rows of  Spring Onions and 52 Broad bean plants.
That's on top of the 250 Onion sets I did last week and the 3 rows of first Earlie's.

But the very best thing about it is , there are only two of us at home to eat it all  :)

I know how you feel... I gave my plot a final once over today and it's looking the best it's looked since I started two and a half years ago. Tomorrow my first earlies go in.  :)

Got one of my pea beds ready, put my earlies in bins (maincrop goes in beds later) another new bed measured up and provisionally dug over and hardcore down for the path next to it, shovelled loads of soil off my overloaded beds into the new bed. Caulies in plot and fleeced and sprouts and swede hardening off. Hanging baskets brought home ready for sweet million toms to go in in april.....tomorow...carrots at home in containers! (busy day tomorrow, cant get to the plot  :( )

I love my plot  :D
