I put  one row my first earlies in on Saturday.  Do these need covering with fleece too?

only if the shoots are showing

I dont mind how cold it is over weekend I'll be at the plot as I have the offer of help with some digging to clear a grassy bit and as this is the first help I've had I intend to make the most of it :D

I'd skip Sunday mornign as the ground will be like concrete !  :)

I've mulched the taters (even though no shoots yet), mowed the grass and when putting the clippings on the compost heap, a mouse shot out.
I hope it manages to find its way back before the cold spell. It can keep the spider population down  :)

Soil.

Soil is all i am  banking on.Its is not going to be minus,so it must be above minus in the ground.
Thats my thinking, is that right ???

Minus 2 to 4 on Saturday night depending on where you are Digger.

With winds gusting up to 50-odd to add to the misery. :(

All the really tender stuff's still on window ledges but will move further from glass

My parents are going away for a week near Hexham. ::)  Might be a bit chilly.

Once everyone is back at work - its going to be a lovely week!  Your parents could come back with sunburn  >:(  Not personal you understand!

You could cloche your beans with the rhubarb but why waste it. :tongue2:

Not going to bother covering my BBs.
Cheese makes everything better.

Very funny  ::)

It was, actually.

The only things I have in the ground are BBs, rhubarb (just breaking through), Jerusalem Artichokes (which I earthed up a bit) and my Morello Cherry (which I guess I had better fleece sharpish).

I have peas in trays in the mini-greenhouse, will they be ok?

I've got some sown seeds and seedlings in one of those plastic 'greenhouses', it's all steamed up at the moment - will they be ok in that or should I bring them in for the night?

Thanks  :)

Does anyone have any tips for covering up if you dont have any fleece?

What else can be used to cover small shoots?

Anything you have, even newspapers.
