Hi all,

I have two rows of Sprout shoots on my plot, standing around an inch high (grown from seed straight in the ground).

There is a frost predicted over Sat night / Sun morning, what is the best way to protect these small shoots from the frost?

Will they need protecting?

Ive got sprout seeds in unheated GH that need to go in, but the packet warned to avoid frost so I havent put them up the plot yet.  Get some fleece to protect the little babies

Thanks PP, where can I get fleece from? Are there different types?

Wilko do it cheap but don't last long. Think you get what you pay for with fleece..unless anyone can recommend a strong and cheap one for you and me

You can get fleece from any garden centre/B&Q/wilkos etc. you can even get if from the pound shop if you have one. Its a white sheet.   Im sure there are different types but I couldnt tell you what they were, I just buy big enough size to fit what I need it to fit.
You then drape it over your plants and weigh it down with bottles full of water (to save tears in the fleece).

  Wilkos fleece is cheap but does tear, I tend to fold it over twice and use planks to hold it down as if you use it without folding it over the wind rips ot to shreds.
