Best radish I've grown were last year and I'll soon be trying this method again.

Don't sling your used compost after pricking out, put it into a large, deep seed tray. (I use cat litter trays, having made some drainage holes).

Sow single radish seed 1" apart, (this is the patience bit). You can get nearly 100 in a tray.

Place in unheated greenhouse, water & wait...... (patience again).

When germinated, place outside, use what ever slug barrier meets with approval, (I find on top of the water barrel pretty good), and wait until mature. Result - pristine radish no slug marks and no extra cost for compost.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

sounds good
and thatll free up the salad bed i was gonna use for em for more pak choi and spring onions!

It's something I picked up when I saw a programme about Medwyn Williams preparing his display for Chelsea, expect he used better compost!

how deep is the tray dave ? 50mm ish ?
