I sowed some peas the other day, in the sunniest bed in my garden.
This morning next doors cat was incubating the peas for me 
Have put some rose prunings over the peas now to discourage her
from helping

Good move. Few animals can tolerate rose thorns. Must put some in the fence spot where next door's nuisance dog always comes through and runs through my flower beds

Sounds a good idea to me - it'll give the peas something to grow up too and keep the pigeons off!
