I have had a Laburnum tree for three years now and it has never flowered. I discovered to late unfortunately last year that the snails are climbing up and eating all the flower buds. Last year they then proceeded to strip the tree of leaves. Last year I tried the adhesive copper strips but they just crawl over them. I wondered about a greaseband do you think that would do the trick?

It's got to be worth a try.  Also, try trapping the little *, and go out with a torch to pick them up by hand and kill them.  Slug pellets as a last resort around the trunk!

Thanks I will try that last time I did that I got 17 on the tree alone. I can't use slug pellets as my whippet seems attracted to them for some reason.

You could use them as bait in a slug trap then dog couldn't get at them Or put bait inside a piece of pipe ...like they do with rat bait...just an idea
