Very jealous. My mum bought one 36 yeras ago and it's still going strong. I think that it's time to hand it over to the next generation but she's having none of it  :D!

Ahh, memories of Saturday evening watching the Muppets and scraping cake mix out of the heavy mixer bowl (sniffle) !
My music teacher was right. If you have to make a mistake, make it good and big and loud; with a bit of luck people will think that it was always meant to be like that.

Yes, it weighs a ton.  I made banana bread in it today, if you like you can pop round and lick the bowl.

That one lives on my work top as it's far too heavy to lug out of the cupboard every time. I have a cheap 'plastic' imitation which was given me as 'the largest buyer of batteries'  but I know which one I would prefer.

It really is a design classic and can't be improved on.  Can't wait to bore you all with my home made sausage photos.  Might be a while though.

It's thing of beauty, boss.

It's slightly different from mine in the front of the arm and the whisk is narrower - so I can suitably admire it!!

I blew mine up :( I got it as a wedding present, it lasted for 22 years, then I had a spell of making bread for our farmers market, totally abused it and it died :( Now I am lucky enough to have been given my mums :) as she didn't use it. It lives on the working top and works hard for it's living, I would be lost without it.
would have been enough for a crumble!

we have exact that same one ice!  mum's had it from new and given that i'm 23 and my parents were married 8 years before i came along....

so 30 years old abouts.........  only thing that we don't have is the cover,  ours is one mum made out of some tea towels.

i quite like the fact that i, the next generation, use it at least fortnightly to mix the bread dough.  Oh and huge batches of soup weekly.  mum still uses it to mince leftover meat for pies etc.

shows that the older product last the test of time!  not like junk these days.  our microwave is about 20 years and still going strong too.

Yes, everything these days is designed NOT to last.  Can't wait to make some bread.  What kind of bread did you make for the farmers market Millymollymandy?
