Went down the plot a couple of days back.
Just to check things over.
All the nets I'd carefully placed -errected around the PSB and Savoys,
none existent, crops completely decimated 
Snow presumably had assisted in flattening them,
Wind hadn't helped !!
"Skyrats" had finnished the task, add to that I was later told
a group of pheasants had been seen around the plot.
All that work rubbished, nature at its "Best"

Bad luck PAH

No matter how careful we are there is always something that can confound our efforts

i found the same yesterday on the PSB, i put the net back though, there is still time for it to sort itself out

Never though of snow doing that,i better get down tomorrow

4ft canes high x 8ft across , hosepipe to take the right angles,ect
(6ft canes driven into soil..4ft showing)
PS, light sandy soil.......
4ft wide bed , say 15-18 plants, fine mesh....
Last Sunday purple sprouts just showing....
Wednesday ......sh......'ps ahoy decimatesd, gone capppoooooot

As an aside to that, anyone who has a fruit cage should remove the fine bird netting from the roof and replace it with pigeon netting over winter for just the same reason.

The huge flocks of pigeons have all dissappeared from this area since the oilseed rape fields got covered in snow.
