I also have about 100 leeks in the ground, most of which couldn't be described as anything other than 'baby leeks'. A frend gave them to me in october, and said that i will be eating them by Christmas, :(  but thay are still like twigs, will thay get bigger or should i just pull them up  pls  :?: ths .

They'll get bigger come the warmer weather. but as they do, they'll run to seed.

October is way too late to be putting leeks in, you're reaching the end of the growing season. I reckon to be getting mine in during June time.

Even if they're small, they'll give a bit of flavour, thrown in a casserole.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Hello
Try clipping the roots in half when planting, not sure what good this does but works for me.

Keep the faith.

I was told a good way to blanch leeks is to use builders damp proofing.
