Mouse and mole deterants

Hey there, does anyone have experience of using Mouse and Mole deterants,I've seen them advertised, but am a bit sceptical !!!!! Moles always seem to make a beeline for my carrot bed, and mice eat my tulips even though I have tried soaking them in Jeys fluid!
would have been enough for a crumble!

I've found the only real way to get rid of mice are traps (that kill!)

No experience of moles so sorry can't offer any advice.

I had a problem  with moles, I had to resort to mole traps that you can buy in garden centres. The traps I had killed them, which I wasn't keen on doing, I read that moles are very solitary creatures and if you re-locate a mole into another ones territory they will fight to the death.

I am fortunate enough not to have a problem with mice.

I have given this advice before on moles. This is the old country way of live and let live.

Go to your plot when it is quiet and talk to your little man in velvet. Ask him nicely but firmly to move away. Perhaps suggest a nice new home such as your neighbours plot. Within 10 days or so you will see no more molehills.

It works every time but the treatment may need to be repeated.

Cheers, I live on a farm out in the sticks so I'm afraid I am surounded with mice , moles and even rats at times, I caught a mole once , picked it up and removed it to the next field ( didn't tell my hubby though!) the little begger bit me   and I was trying to be nice.

i would assume that the same that works for foxes works for moles and mice. By this i mean if you put hair cuttings in the ground soaked in human wee then they will stay away, as the scent  in their minds is a natural deterrent. i use hair soaked in (yes my weee) all around the chook area and have so far not had a problem. it definately works with rats too as long as you top up now and again!
