I do not understand...

Can some one dumb down for me what all this means please?

Perfect for early spring sowing, one packet each of Cabbage Premier, Spring Onion White Lisbon, Sugar Loaf Chicory, Rocket Rucola, Beetroot Ruby Queen and Pea Feltham First.

I can see Cabbage and Onion... then it all goes kinda blurry for me. :(

Not at all... Sugar Leaf Chicory and Rocket Rucola I have never heard of... nor the other two.

I will presume that one is just a beetroot and the other a type of garden pea both with fancy names?

Rocket is a peppery salad leaf and Chicory is also, but some are quite bitter.  The beetroot variety is a very sweet one and Feltham First is a variety of pea that I have been growing for a few years.

I'd hardly call "Feltham First" a fancy name - it's quite a staple!

Basically...'
Cabbage
Spring Onion
Chicory
Salad Leaves
Beetroot
Peas!!

Nowt complex!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

there are a bewildering array of veg seed varieties, although not as many as in times past :D  So instead of simply growing beetroot we have a mind boggling task to choose from about a hundred types  :D  It becomes quite a mouthwatering prospect when you have the whole array of veggies to grow. You can spend hours pawing over seed catalogues to make your mind up on the final choices. Great job for a cold winter night  :D   I sat in bed with a huge pot of tea and the Seeds of Italy catalogue this morning  :D
