Hi Every one,
     I have a quandry, being new to the patch I believe that it is the done thing to manure ground for some things like potatoes but not things like carrots. So if I can not manure can I pile on the compost as the ground is in need of help just like me and do I do it in the fall or in the spring. Hope to hear from some of you soon.

If you've got a supply of compost, pile it on your beds now. In the spring you can dig it in and all will be grand.

Hi Mr B welcome to the forums  

As Noshed says pile it on and leave, or you can dig in if you wish. But the worms will do a lot of it for you if you leave it on the top

      Thanks for your responce, I have covered half the plot today with all that I had, I will look out for some manure for the other half.
