Morning garddwr, not sure about the grouping but i guess your doing a 6 year rotation then.
Graham = 2x Border collie Dogs, 2x Cats, 1x Wife, 2x Kids, 2x Hamsters and now 10x chickens.

Are they equal sized beds as shown?

If so I think you'll find you'll need more room for some than the others. For instance the cucurbit & sweetcorn group will need a lot of space, whereas the carrots & parsnips will need less than these.

Of course it depends on how many of each you intend to grow!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I agree with DD, with only carrots, parsnips and beets you dont need much room.

Squash/Pumpkin get all over the place!

Also, you can plant your leeks in the same place you dig your early pots up from.

Groupings seem fine though!

i know you've grouped them by type (which i have no clue about) but what about companion planting?

i've never looked back with regards to carrot fly when it comes to planting alternate rows of carrots and onions and also parsnips and onions.

I will have a patch in the field opposite my home so I decide how big what will be so the beds can be any size really but I thought it would look nice equal and we do eat a lot of carrots and parsnips and beetroot but I forogot about sweede and turnips I'll put some in there as well oh and lettuce

We eat loads of carrots so it doesn't look too far off to me. ;)
It really does depend on how much you eat as to the area you need for each.
I'd be inclined to mix up the beans and cucurbit's/sweetcorn, as they do well together, as well as carrots and onions as jennyb suggests.
I demand the right to buy seed of varieties that are not "distinct, uniform and stable".

I wouldnt put all your squash, pumpkins etc in the same beds, even though the bed may be bigger than the others it would need to be huge to allow space for all those
Your cabbages etc will also take up a lot of room, whereas (as others have said) carrots etc wont take up that much
Beans will also take up a lot of growing space, and you have to bear in mind you need to get to them to pick them,  so factor that in to your amounts to harvest and spacings and maybe put one lot somewhere else
Also dont forget your quick crops, like lettuce and radish, can be put in between your slower stuff

Courgettes will be fine outside

I wouldn't group beetroot with the carrots & parsnips - you'll get a much better crop if they have a higher nitrogen content (treat them like a leaf beet rather than a root)

i have to disagree with paintedlady re: the beetroot. I plant mine in the same area and get some of the best on our site! Maybe my fingers are greener than yours  :tongue2:

   Do I really care digital_biscuit?  Bully for you - seems there were a lot of people on this site not too long ago crying their beetroots were the size of golf balls, and if I can't offer a bit of advice without an infantile retort, it is a sad day for everyone.
