newbie with a new plot
« on: February 18, 2007, 21:50 »
Ive been watching posts for a long time and have just got my new plot so thought Id say hello.

For the past few years we have been growing veg  on a small 4mx3m back garden plot but on tuesday last week we eventually got a nice allotment 28ft x 83ft. £26 a year with water on site and a security fence all around the site and a high security key to go with it. I know its dearer than some but cheaper than others but the site is great, the soil is great (has been well cultivated for years), and the plot came with some old garden tools, 2 brand new plastic compost bins, a fire barrel, and an old anderson shelter thrown in.

So far Ive managed to find the bloke on the site who will do the rotorvating if you ask him so for £10 he had the whole plot rotorvated over by 12noon today ( I only asked him yesterday)!

Apart from a few leaks in the anderson shelter (which should be easy to repair) Im ready to plant. So Im looking foward to some hard work and fresh veg in the summer (an the plot already had a load of raspberry canes in which should produce a good crop !). Really pleased !

Cheers,
Moz

Yeah but being there to see it (and remembering it) are both amazing.
