Has anyone on here had any success with butter beans.  If so please share where you get the seeds from as we are having great trouble finding them.  Just love butter beans.

Don't know much about them, or if they grow in our climate, but I understand you can buy them dry. Can you not sow these? (This is a pure guess!!)

I had some Florida butter beans off of a fellow member on here, can't remember, was it Shaun?  and also planted some dried ones that I'd bought, and although they all grew, they haven't been very prolific, but if you want to try some?  Send me your addy by PM and I'll pop some in the post, save you wasting your money!  They may like your ground better than mine!!!

You can buy dried butter beans off the healthy eating/legume section in supermarkets (not that expensive), but you'll have problems trying to grow your own crop.  If I recall, they need a very warm & long season which you won't normally get in the UK anyway.

Though largely of tropical origin, quite adaptable, depending on strain and variety. But rather a long season crop, again, depending on variety, can anything from a 100 something days to a year to maturity.

So worth seeking out an early one for some crop to write home about.
