manure around brassicas
« on: October 08, 2008, 19:09 »
I'm confused about putting rotted horse manure around cabbages, caulis and sprouts.  Some books say to put some round as a mulch, others say not too.
Anyone got any tips ?

I'd be surprised if you got a differently simple answer here.

Mulch under brassica is good, makes life harder for root fly, keeps roots moist if  applied at the right time, provides nourishment.

Not to is worrying about PH, I'd guess.
