A lady who has her poultry listed on the site emailed to tell me she'd been robbed and they've had her stock away. She's in Burton on Trent,  Staffs so if you're in the area and you get offered some poultry that doesn't seem quite right, please contact her -

That is just absolutely horrendous and heartbreaking

i cant even begin to imagine how this lady must be feeling, as it sounds like she had some stunning chooks.

thieves make me so angry, and i hope the police take this very serious and i wish her lots of hugs and hope they are back with her soon.

gosh i really am angry

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your kind comments.  . I have breeding these birds for 3 years and couldn't believe it when I went to let them out and found empty pens. I just hope through all the people I have contacted we find the culprits! They can't keep getting away with doing this. The scary thing is they must have been outside my house for about an hour taking all those birds and I was asleep. If anyone has any information or if you think you have seen my birds in auction please let me know. I'm sure they will be planning to sell them somewhere.

Best Regards

I'm so glad you were able to post, your self control is amazing. The thieves had best hope the Hen House crowd don't catch them.

Good luck!

Just a thought you don't want to scare these Bu***rs too much, if you think you are being offered any of the birds might be best to suggest your very keen, but would need to check with partner hubby etc...
That way you have a good reason to ask for a phone number

Like I said just a thought

Really hope some info turns up soon

Great idea Sarah!

The only problem I have is that on finding my birds (and of course after all the time I have spent with them I would know) I then have to prove they are mine. Am wondering if to look into chipping them in the future, well maybe at least the show quality ones. Anyone have any ideas? Leg rings can just be cut off!

So sorry to hear about your birds.  Hope the b*****ds are found, but I fear the police won't take too keen an interest.  They could be anywhere now.

Fingers crossed for you though!

Thanks Catii,

Lucky for me there vehicle wasn't big enough to take all my birds but will take some time to get the collection back to strength again.

Visitors are always welcome if I am contacted, had to put a security system in now (cost I wasn't planning for, thanks robbers!) so unfortunatley can't have people popping in as it has always been before. Would love to meet you if your in my area.

Oh thats terrible! I cant even begin to comprehend how you feel.
I live in the Bristol area so have a nose around (obviously very carefully)-they might try to move them around the country to get rid of them.
Salisbury auction is on soon, a lot of breeders go to that - have you posted on pekinbantams yet? a lot of those guys are very knowledgeable with the pure breeds and would probably recognise your strains of orpys.
Again what an awful shame!
