I would like to start growing my own organic fruit and veg in our garden but not sure how to get food all year round. I have only ever grown a few things in our garden before and never organic. The things I have succesfully grown are tomatos(These grow very well) spring onions,strawberries, sweetcorn. I have attempted lettuce (Always eaten by slugs),broccoli (Never came up) sprouts (Infested with bugs) and cucumber (Diseased). All of these were planted in march. I now have a plot about 20 foot by 10 foot to start using. But I dont just want a crop to all arrive at the same time so want food that can be staggered and organic.

The veg I would like to grow are:

Lettuce
Tomatos
Potatoes
Green Bean
Peppers
Carrots
Broccoli
Onions
Swede  

I dont know if when these need to be planted or when they would come up.

I reckon most of what you have listed you are going to have to wait till next spring, This time of year our choices become limited you could try turnips now you may get some tops off next spring, hate to seem boring but it's time for overwintering onions and garlic to be bought and put in over the next month. Broad beans would be worth a go as well, there's probably more but I don't know them.

Lettuces may be grown under a cloche over the autumn & winter months

And don't forget peas, get a round pea variety and keep them under a cloche for an early crop next year.
