All depends on how you want to bring them up in my book NP

If they're going to be in a brooder in a shed then you can gradually acclimatise them, if they're in a brooder in a house you could struggle to get them living out side before next spring.

With the weather as unpridicable as it's been I will hatch the eggs( week an a bit to go) I've got with my broody hen (she can do the hard work of keeping them warm :) ) and then that's me for this year.

It's all about getting them feathered up and ready for winter in my opinion, too late in the year = problem chicks

I had chicks in November last year. I put a similar question on here and Munty replied that he had seen chicks out in the snow    It worked okay for me
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

It's never to late if the eggs are fertile, but broodies are less likely to sit full term and small incubators are not able to cope with the greater difference in day and night temperatures.

As long as you're not hatching eggs on a 'whim' and you have the right facilities to look after them properly, you can hatch chicks all the year round.
You need to be aware that hatching chicks is a responsibility that doesn't finish when the chicks come out of the shell. Infact, thats when your hard work really starts and you MUST look after them properly. No birds are going to thrive at any time of the year, whether it be hot or cold, if they are standing cheek to jowl in fetid mud. Think long and hard before putting continuous streams of eggs into the incubator.

I totally agree with Aunt Sally NP.

You need to enlarge their run and find them some better ground asap. Could you make a temporary run in a better location while you wait for the mesh ??

Maybe make a couple of sides from some board or corrugated material for now ??
