I couldn't live without my marigolds, ever since I've had them in (from seed) I seem to have a massive reduction in blackfly and greenfly. I love sunflowers (Tis what got me into gardening) and still grow seen year on year from what I had the previous year. It's great seeing the variety that comes up. I hope to eventually keep doing it all the time I grow... so eventually i guess I'll have a strain of my own!

I have a massive poppy collection, currently the seeds harvested this year fill a Farrero Roche (sp?) plastic case. I just scatter these willy nilly in the front garden as i'm trying to turn that weed infested lawn into my own piece of wildflower meadow.

I grow a lot of clary/painted sages. the bees absolutely adore them and are there from dawn to disk.

I don't currently have any flowers but have heard that marigolds attract ladybirds which might be why some of  you have seen a reduction in aphids since the flowers have been there.
