I harvested my first ever garlic crop this year. As a beginner I did nothing for the poor things, just shoved them in the soil (green sand) and let them get on with it.

Amazement and delight! Just like magic! A big juicy garlic bulb for every clove planted!  

Alas, we too get through about 2 whole bulbs a week (once you've discovered the joys of whole head roasted garlic you will never look back. And nor will your friends, it's sweet not smelly). So my crop won't last too long. Roll on next year!
