Hi,

Just got back from Ashover show where they were selling chooks, The ad mentioned they had been vaccinated but tht started me thinking...not sure if my chooks have been!?

Is this something I should think about getting done?? Is it expensive? Is it necesarry for me in my little garden with 3 (soon to be 4) hens!? Does it have any affect on eggs?

Vaccinations, if I have got my info right, are done at a very very young age and only are done on the large scale so if your girls aren't done already then it would be too late now.

Hey Mick did you see Little Morton peeps there. I needed supplies today but when I phoned him he was there. He vaccinates his hybrids

I have no idea about vaccinations at all! I'm a bit naive really, I assume that the people I buy my chooks from give me healthy birds!  :?

But having seen the folks at Ashover advertising their chooks as 'vaccinated' it made me think!

What would they be vaccinated against? If they're not done are there any problems that could arise?

Yeah, they were there - they had a stall selling their wares!
